Cycling Canada is a National Sport Organization whose main objective is the promotion of cycling within Canada. It also pursues world class results by leading high performance programs and enabling the development of athletes so they can compete successfully at an international level.

With the completion of the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, cycling finally has a place to call home in Canada. The velodrome is providing the venue to focus the necessary technical leadership and sport medicine/science support in a quality daily training environment for Cycling Canada's national program. This provides the basis to develop athletes for the next Olympics/Paralympics (Rio 2016) and beyond.

The velodrome allows Cycling Canada to implement a high performance program that will lead to systemic success and a sustainable international program.  The velodrome also provides a base to run introductory programs, with training for all levels of riders and a progression into the long term athlete development. The Town of Milton, through the Milton Cycling Academy, is delivering introductory and "learn to" programs while building a club that will, in time, progress to the elite level.

Cycling Canada is pleased with the system that its partners have built (Cycling Canada, Ontario Cycling Association and Milton Cycling Academy) and the shared resources that are being developed to align the programs and support to athletes.
