The Mattamy National Cycling Centre is the only velodrome of its kind in Canada, and only the second in North America that meets top international standards. It serves as both a community recreation facility and a venue for provincial, national and international events.

The Mattamy National Cycling Centre, working in close harmony with Cycling Canada, the Ontario Cycling Association and the Milton Cycling Academy, provided a world-class cycling venue for the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and is committed to continuing to meet the needs for cycling and sporting enthusiasts for years to come.

As the home of Canadian Cycling, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre is an extraordinary facility that will cultivate world-class Canadian cyclists while engaging the local community with a wide range of recreational and sport opportunities for all ages and abilities.

History and Legacy

TORONTO 2015 approached the Town of Milton in late 2011 to propose the idea of Milton becoming home for a velodrome as a four-season, permanent facility with legacy potential. Milton considered the request based on committed support from the Games and government partners to develop a facility that would provide benefit to the Milton community for years to come.

Core to the design of the facility is its ability to function as both an international cycling destination and as a legacy community recreation centre.

The Mattamy National Cycling Centre stands as a privilege and testament to the legacy of Canadian cycling and beyond. This legacy has created a world-class cycling centre and an innovative community facility with all of the amenities to support both aspects of use. The Town has benefited from the Legacy Fund Agreement as a result of hosting the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. As a Legacy facility, the Centre must develop annual business plans and results for presentation to the TORONTO 2015 Legacy Committee. As with all other Town of Milton facilities, the annual capital and operating budgets will also be subject to full public disclosure and transparency.
